Sigma Tactical Wellness

There is absolutely no question that the number one killer of active and retired law enforcement officers and fire fighters is heart disease.

Sigma Tactical Wellness has developed an aggressive on-site screening strategy that has been proven effective in over 7,500 first responders across the United States. It is through this cutting-edge technology that early, pre-clinical heart disease markers have been detected in otherwise fit appearing men and women as early as age 30. This intensive, tailored evaluation alerts officers to the negative health impacts of the job, properly assesses their cardiac risk and provides them with the knowledge to mitigate that risk through a combination of lifestyle change and medical intervention.

The Sigma on-site screening program consists of the following components:

  • Active electrocardiogram (ECG) with physician interpretation and evaluation
  • Cardiometabolic stress test with expiratory gas analysis – determines contributions of fat and carbohydrate into total daily energy expenditure (indirect calorimetry)
  • Advanced lipid panel including cardiac inflammatory biomarker analysis – also includes overview of hematology, liver/kidney function, thyroid, PSA (men), HbA1c (diabetes)
  • Carotid Intima-media thickness ultrasound (CIMT) – performed on-site and interpreted in real-time
  • Consultation with a mid-level clinician (Advanced-practice nurse/practitioner or physician’s assistant)
  • Consultation with exercise physiologist
  • In-depth nutritional analysis based on individual results of cardiometabolic testing
  • Comprehensive written results and recommendations provided via patient portal for participants to share with their personal healthcare providers

For more information about Sigma Tactical Wellness and the programs they offer, please contact Cassie 651-235-4129 or cassie@sigmacoaching.com

CallUpGollop Team

The CallUpGollop Team of eXp Realty was founded by a retired police sergeant, and a large majority of the agents on the team come from the ranks of retired Minnesota law enforcement.  They understand the emotional impact a law enforcement career has on officers, and their families, and how that can compound when making a monumental decision, such as buying a home.  The mission of the team is putting clients first, and the team exemplifies this in its care of its blue family, having helped officers buy and sell homes in Florida, Wisconsin and Minnesota, including first homes, second homes, land, and investment properties.

Likely, you already know and trust someone on the team; let them guide you through the homebuying process, from start to finish, with an understanding of your unique needs, as an officer. Their knowledge, team approach, and unique perspective is just what you need to feel good about buying or selling your next real estate adventure.

Look for the team at your next LELS event, and come say hi to your old partners!

Heroes Helping Heroes

Heroes Helping Heroes is a non-medical support group that is committed to helping active and retired first responders coping with mental health issues, specifically PTSD.

While we are in the infancy stages now, it is our hope to provide numerous social events throughout the year, both large and small, from golfing to fishing to book clubs and everything in between. We want to recreate the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood that are lost when someone loses his or her profession. Furthermore, we want to provide a space in which all first responders feel supported.

All events are open to first responders only, unless specified otherwise.

To receive more specific details, please join our mailing list through heroeshelpingheroesmn.com. Proof of current or prior employment is necessary.
